Original Ideas
I had originally planned to get the 1Hz clock pulse from the mains frequency, as shown below. However, for simplicity, I am now using the 555 circuit, shown above. In this idea, I was going to take the 60Hz and step it down to 1Hz with a series of counter IC's.
